Shawnee Commission Approves Land Use Agreement to Support YMCA Growth

The Shawnee City Commission has unanimously approved a land use agreement that will allow the Shawnee Family YMCA to expand and grow! Thanks to this incredible partnership with the City of Shawnee, we’re moving forward with plans to build a 15,000-square-foot facility featuring:
Classrooms
A full kitchen/concession area
A regulation-size gym with volleyball capability
Y Expansion brings opportunity to Shawnee
This expansion will double the size of our summer camp, enhance our after-school programs, and elevate our Thunder Youth Basketball League—creating more opportunities for local kids and families.
After two years of operating sports across multiple sites due to the 2023 tornado, we’re excited to reunite our outdoor programs in one centralized space.
