The attached document has a detailed explanation of our policies and procedures, the information below is a brief summary of the content.
The Shawnee Family YMCA is committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment for members of all ages. Here's what you need to know:
Checking In – All members must enter their phone number at the keypad and have a photo on file at the Membership Desk.
Children & Supervision – Age-based rules are in place for facility access. Teens 13+ may visit independently, while children 12 and under require a parent or guardian in the building. Children 8 and under are not permitted in fitness or free weight areas.
Expected Behavior – The Y upholds its four core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Memberships may be suspended for conduct that doesn't reflect those values.
Fitness & Classes – Group exercise classes are included with membership. Equipment should be wiped down after use, and machine time is limited to 30-minute intervals.
Pool Safety – A lifeguard must be on duty before anyone enters the pool. Age- and height-based rules apply to the waterslide and lazy river. Swim tests are required for children 14 and under in deeper water.
Membership & Billing – Monthly EFT drafts are the primary payment method. Cancellations require 30 days' written notice. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Guests – Day passes are available ($10 for ages 13+, $5 for under 13, or $20 for a family rate).
